Transfer your domains to Register.it
Read the instructions displayed on this page carefully, as they are fundamental to complete the procedure quickly and easily, and start the transfer to Register.it.

Do you want to transfer a .IT domain?
- Check your DNS: during the procedure you can decide whether to keep your DNS or whether to switch to Register.it's. We recommend you pay extra attention to their configuration, as the relevant Authority will check them during the change of Maintainer (or transfer of a domain .it) and, if their configuration is not correct, your application for transfer will be rejected. We suggest you choose our DNS, so as to benefit from the additional services included in the transfer fee and to guarantee a good visibility to your website.
- Don't forget the Letter of Change of Maintainer: at the end of the procedure a partly filled in letter will be dispalyed. You will have to print it, complete it if necessary (without changing the data that have already been entered), sign it and send it to the Italian Registration Authority at the address indicated on the letter. If you forget to send this letter, the Change of Maintainer (or transfer of a .it domain ) will not be completed.
- Change of assignee: if you wish to transfer your .it domain and, at the same time, change the corporate name of the assignee of your domain (or owner), you have to perform a Change of assignee operation.
Do you want to transfer a .COM, .NET, .ORG domain?
- Check the status of your domain at http://www.internic.net/whois.html. Only if the domain is in ACTIVE or OK status will it be possible to transfer it. In all other cases, we suggest you contact your current Registrar and request to have your domain stats changed.
- Check your email address: before starting the procedure, make sure that the email address of the domain administrator is active. If it isn't, it will be impossible to complete the transfer.
- Check the expiration date: before starting the procedure, make sure your domain has not expired and that it will not expire after ten days of the transfer request. If it is, you will first have to renew it at the previous Registrar. You can have your domain transferred to Register.it only after its' been renewed.
Please remember that the operation can be performed only if the domain you intend to transfer has been registered for longer than 60 days. - Forms: we will send the necessary transfer forms to the relevant Registration Authority in regards to these domains: .com, .net o .org.
Do you want to transfer a .EU domain?
- Check the domain assignee email address on EURid site at www.whois.eu- Before starting the procedure, make sure the email address of the domain assignee is active. If it isn’t, it will be impossible to complete the transfer. EURid will send a confirmation email to the email address currently found in the whois datamask. Only after reception of the assignee's consent, will the domain be transferred.
- Check the domain assignee data - To complete the change of registrar operation, the domain assignee must be the same; otherwise you will have to perform a change of owner operation. In the case of domains registered under juridical persons, you can check the assignee data on EURid's site at www.whois.eu. If the domain is registered under the name of a physical person, you will only be able to view their email address.

REMEMBER
The transfer procedure is always started and managed by the new Registrar (for .com,.net, .org domains) or by the new Maintainer (for .it domains) and never by the previous Registrar/Maintainer.
